Elena Durán Valdeiglesias has over 10 years of experience in developing optoelectronic components for datacom and telecom applications, with expertise in the design, characterization, and nanofabrication of photonic devices. Since July 2024, she has been working as a Senior R&D Optoelectronics Engineer at NcodiN, leading a team of three junior engineers and developing III-V nanolasers and photodetectors integrated with silicon. Previously, at Almae Technologies (2019–2024), she managed the Device, Analysis, and Validation team, overseeing resource allocation and client interactions while developing III-V lasers and modulators for datacom. She completed her PhD in 2019 at the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies, focusing on the hybrid integration of carbon nanotubes and silicon. Earlier, she worked at the University of Malaga (2011–2013) on photonic and microwave components and spent three months at Carleton University in 2013 building a photonic characterization setup. She also has five years of experience in team and project management.
