I. Molina-Fernández received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1989 and the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Málaga, Málaga, Spain, in 1993. Since 1989, he has been with the ETSI Telecomunicación, Universidad de Málaga, as an Associate and then Full Professor, where he is the leader of the photonics&RF group. His research interest is in the area of optical and microwave communications were he has led several projects regarding simulation of optical integrated devices and prototyping of microwave/millimeter wave systems. He is co-author of more than 70 international publications in microwave and photonic topics. He has been participating in more than 25 research and development national and international projects.
